Pakistan: Day One - The Journey

Twenty-six hours after leaving my bed, I am finally back in one. Oh sweet luxurious pillows -- sorry the fruit guy came to the door bringing bananas! and oranges! and kiwis! (or something like, couldn't be sure, not that I even like kiwis-- they're for my dad)-- Where was I? Oh yes, pillows, all six of them. They know how I like a bed. To be fair by the airline, that was the best twelve hour flight I've ever been on. Each seat had its own tv screen with access to at least a hundred movies on demand (Alexis, they had Elizabethtown!)and lots and lots of music. One of the options was the number one hits in the UK classed by year for the past fifty years. Ahhh, old favorites like Slim Shady and Gina's Ooh Ahh, Just a Little Bit, Wannabe by the Spice Girls, and! OH! Barbie Girl. God, that song was fantastically horrible. There were also video games. Emirates is now the official airline of Shangrila. Seriously, I do declare it. When they dim the cabin lights every other ceiling panel lights up with stars! They also serve good cheese-- Cabot's Cheddar, to be precise. Loves it! Loves it all!
Okay, my exorbitant use of exclamation marks has penetrated even my muddled, bone weary self with a muffled sense of horror. I think it's time to call this an entry. Tralala my pretties... more to follow...

Fourteen Days of Love Poems: Day Two

Outwitted

He drew a circle that shut me out -
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout.
But Love and I had the wit to win;
We drew a circle to take him in.

Fourteen Days of Love Poems: Day One

Then wear the gold hat, if that will move her;
if you can bounce high, bounce for her too,
Till she cry "Lover, gold-hatted, high-bouncing lover,
I must have you!"

- F. Scott Fitzgerald
